How to make a Sock Monkey!
Start with a pair of socks
Flip one of the socks inside out, and fold it so that the heel is facing up. Cut the legs and stitch around all of the open edges.
Round off the toes.
Flip the sock inside out and stuff the whole thing
with stuffing cotton
Take the other sock and flip it inside out and cut out the,
arms,ears,tail and nose
note: I cut the nose out of a white sock, that's why you don't see it on the picture
you are suppose to cut the nose out of the heel ;)
Sew around ears. Sew around the arms, rounding the hand area. Sew around the tail, making the tip pointed.
Gather and sew the nose part, so that it is round and three dimensional
but I forgot to do that so it doesn't look the way it should :P
I just sewed around the edge--
Turn each of the parts right-side out
and fill the arms, tail and nose with cotton stuffing
Gather and sew the top of the head by
pinching folds of sock together to create a rounded top,
as shown below.
Stitch a line around the neck, then pull tightly to gather, in order
to make the neck thinner than the head
For the ears, nose and arms, fold the opening inside
and stitch to the body
Fold the opening of the tail inside
and sew it onto the body
Use your favorite buttons for the eyes and nose.
Sew a red mouth and sew in the ears and you're done!
